After the Splash: Silver Jewellery That Keeps Holi Sparkling
Article to be attributed to Aditya Modak, Co-founder of Gargi by P. N. Gadgil & Sons
Holi is more than just a festival of colour; it’s a celebration that stretches from lively daytime gatherings to relaxed evening soirees. From playful powder fights and music-filled terraces to cozy dinners and post-party catch-ups, every moment calls for jewellery that’s lively, fun, and ready to keep up with the festival’s energy. Silver jewellery, with it’s soft shine and lightweight charm, has become the go-to pick for anyone who wants to stay stylish without any fuss, letting you enjoy the colours, laughter, and movement without feeling weighed down.
As the sun begins to dip and the day winds down, the right silver pieces effortlessly carry the energy of Holi into the evening. Chunky rings with textured designs or tiny gemstone touches catch the light every time you gesture-whether you’re raising a glass, clapping along to music, or laughing with friends. You can stack a few for a playful, layered look or let a single statement ring do all the talking; either way, they feel alive, fun, and completely in sync with the festival’s free-spirited vibe. Silver rings are no longer just accessories- they’re conversation starters, little bursts of sparkle that mirror the colourful chaos of the day.

Necklaces come alive as the evening sets in. Delicate silver chains with little pendants catch the soft glow of lights, while longer, layered strands move effortlessly with you, adding depth, dimension, and just the right touch of drama to your look. They’re easy to wear, fun to mix and match, and the kind of jewellery that moves with you-catching subtle hints of the day’s playful colours while keeping up with the night’s relaxed pace. Layered chains can be teamed with rings or earrings for a playful, festive vibe, or worn on their own for a simple, elegant look that still catches the light in every photo.

Earrings are the finishing touch that ties everything together. Oversized hoops, sculptural drops, or modern ear studs catch the light with every turn of your head, framing your face and adding a playful personality without ever feeling heavy. Their shapes and textures make them just as perfect for laughter-filled conversations after Holi as they were for the sunlit festivities earlier in the day. They add a gentle sparkle that makes even the simplest outfits feel festive, and their versatility lets you transition effortlessly from a bright, colourful daytime celebration to a relaxed, stylish evening gathering.

Even the smaller pieces matter. Fine bracelets, delicate rings and subtle anklets add soft shimmer as you move through the evening. They feel effortless, letting you enjoy the party without worrying about your jewellery. When paired with statement rings, layered chains and bold earrings, these subtle pieces complete a look that’s playful, expressive, and perfect for Holi’s after-party vibe. They’re also easy to mix and match across the festival season, meaning your jewellery can be reused and restyled for different occasions without losing its charm.
Holi is a festival of energy, movement, and colour, and silver jewellery is one of the few things that can keep pace with all three. It’s light enough to wear all day, catches the light with every movement, and works effortlessly with any look, mood, or celebration. It’s lightweight enough to wear from dawn to dusk, reflective enough to catch every glimmer of light and versatile enough to work with multiple looks, moods and celebrations. From bold, statement-making rings to delicate chains that sway with your every step, each piece carries a sense of freedom and fun- just like Holi itself.

“Silver jewellery by Gargi is made to capture the spirit of Holi- the colours, the movement, and the joy in every gesture. Each piece reflects light, moves with you as you dance, and adds a playful sparkle that works from the sunlit celebrations to relaxed evening gatherings. It’s jewellery that doesn’t just accessorize, it becomes part of the festival itself,” says Aditya Modak, Co-Founder of Gargi by P.N. Gadgil & Sons.
Even after the whirlwind of colours and celebrations, silver keeps on shining. From delicate glimmers to bold statement pieces, it carries the energy and joy of Holi well into the night. As the day comes to a close and the colours settle, Gargi’s silver jewellery keeps sparkling and moving with you; from glimmering rings and layered necklaces to playful earrings and delicate bracelets. With the right pieces, your Holi look doesn’t end with the party; it stays effortless, lively, and full of personality well into the evening.

Gold Industry Proposes New Strategy To Cut Imports and Boost Local Economy
Precious Metals Refineries Forum (PMRF) Has Proposed A Two-Track System To Manage Gold More Efficiently
Following Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call to reduce gold imports and foreign travel, major Indian bullion and jewellery bodies have submitted a new plan to the government and the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). The strategy aims to lower the nation’s trade deficit by tapping into the estimated 30,000 tonnes of gold sitting in Indian households.
This move comes after India’s gold imports jumped 24% to a record $71.9 billion in the 2025-26 financial year, with over 721 tonnes of gold brought into the country.
The New Strategy: Two Separate Systems
The Precious Metals Refineries Forum (PMRF) has proposed a two-track system to manage gold more efficiently:
- For Exporters: Imported gold should be strictly saved for jewellery exporters using one-year Gold Metal Loans (GML).
- For Local Buyers: Domestic demand should be met entirely by recycling household gold. This gold would be collected from citizens, refined locally, and sold back through jewellers and retailers.
Under this plan, people who deposit their idle gold could earn 2% to 2.5% interest, while businesses taking gold loans would pay an interest rate of 3% to 4%.
Fixing Why Past Schemes Failed
Previous government gold schemes failed to gain traction primarily because they left out local jewellers and lacked a proper banking structure. Without a joined-up system, institutions faced high financial risks from changing gold prices.
To fix this, trade bodies are calling for a complete system that includes:
- Direct involvement of trusted local jewellers. The schemes did not take off in the past because jewellers were not part of them. About 10% to 20% of family gold is held as bars or coins.
- Strong bank backing and secure storage vaults across the country.
- Tax incentives, such as removing the 3% GST loss when physical gold is converted into Electronic Gold Receipts (EGR), and offering income tax relief on the interest earned.
Industry Support
Industry experts say a smooth system is already possible. Collection and purity testing centres have confirmed that collected household gold can be processed within 48 hours and safely moved to secure, bank-approved vaults.
Representatives from the Indian Bullion and Jewellers Association (IBJA) recently held discussions with RBI officials to fast-track these changes.
