India  Gold, Silver Prices See Sharp Decline

Bullion Prices Have Come Under Pressure As Investors Recalibrate The Outlook For Global Interest Rates and Adjust Demand Expectations Ahead Of Key U.S. Economic Data.

Gold rates and silver rates in India crashed sharply on September 11, 2026, as investors awaited CPI inflation data of USA and India. MCX gold dropped nearly 1% to trade below Rs 1,51,600 per 10 grams mark, while MCX silver also declined 1% to struggle around Rs 2.32 lakh per 1 Kg level. This is due to global bullion market which is moving on a cautious note, coupled with rising crude oil prices and treasury yields.

Gold prices fell sharply in early trade on Friday, with benchmark futures on the MCX slipping below the Rs 1,51,000 per 10 grams level as shifting interest rate expectations weighed on the metal.

The MCX Gold October futures contract plunged to an intraday low of Rs 1,50,695 per 10 grams, down Rs 1,646, or 1.08%, from its previous close of Rs 1,52,341. By mid-morning, the contract had trimmed a portion of its losses to trade at Rs 1,51,474 per 10 grams, down Rs 867, or 0.57%.

The slide follows a session of losses on Thursday, when the October contract settled lower at Rs 1,52,341, down from Rs 1,53,763 on Sept 9.

Bullion prices have come under pressure as investors recalibrate the outlook for global interest rates and adjust demand expectations ahead of key U.S. economic data. The trajectory of the U.S. dollar and government bond yields continues to dictate near-term direction across precious metals markets.
