Bharat Diamond Bourse Gives A RED-CARPET Welcome To Visiting Kimberley Process 2026 Delegates
Red-Carpet Welcome, Advanced Infrastructure, and World-Class Rough Viewing Facilities Showcase India’s Leadership In The Global Natural Diamond Trade
The visiting KP delegation for the Intersessional being held in Mumbai, India, received a welcome at Bharat Diamond Bourse (BDB) for an exclusive tour of the facility. A red-carpet welcome, accompanied by the official BDB Band playing, went a long way in reiterating the importance of the Kimberley Process (KP) for the global diamond industry. The KP has indeed played an important role in supporting peace, protecting livelihoods and strengthening legitimate diamond trade across nations. Natural Diamonds represent a sustainable product and the Kimberley Process continues to remain one of the most progressive certification systems globally.
Mehul Shah, Vice President, BDB welcomed the KP delegates and in his address spoke on the importance of KP for the world of diamonds and invited them for an exclusive tour of the BDB facility. During his address he invited all mining economies to display their rough diamonds for viewing at IDTC. He also added that a direct bridge between manufacturers and thousands of buyers within BDB will go a long way in saving time and money spent by buyers on travelling for purchase. This also will help mining entities get better prices for their rough.

Post the photo op, the KP delegates toured the BDB facility, which is the largest functional diamond exchange in the world. The delegates were thrilled looking at the infrastructure and security systems installed within the bourse and were much in awe with the world-class India Diamond Trading Centre (IDTC), situated within BDB for rough viewing. The visiting delegates were formed into groups and each group was led by committee members of BDB who explained to visitors the facility at every stage of the tour.
