Indian trade exhibitors report steady European demand for diamonds and fine jewelry, buoyed by buyer interest in lightweight engineering and ethical sourcing despite elevated global gold prices, delegates at the Vicenzaoro September trade fair said.

Organized GJEPC), the India Pavilion featured 34 member exporters spanning nearly 690 square meters. The event opened with 1,300 exhibiting brands from 40 countries and hosted 910 foreign buyers.

Market Stability: Exporters cited consistent year-on-year growth across the European Union and Middle East, describing European buyers as price-conscious yet receptive to high-craftsmanship designs

Engineering Around Gold: Rising gold costs have driven manufacturers to adapt product designs. Companies like Renaissance Jewellery are utilizing 3D printing, CAD/CAM, and AI to engineer negative space into pieces, reducing metal weight while maintaining visual scale and structural durability.

Traceability & Ethics: Exhibitors noted heightened European demand for certified supply chain transparency, pointing to Responsible Jewellery Council (RJC) audits as a standard requirement for polished diamond buyers.

Trade Catalyst: Exporters pointed to the prospective India-EU Free Trade Agreement (FTA) as a key future catalyst that could streamline logistics, reduce administrative barriers, and lower market entry costs for smaller Indian manufacturers.

The sentiment reflects a broader push by Indian suppliers to pivot toward high-value technology and certified sourcing to capture European market share amid shifting commodity costs.
