Dr. K. Srikar Reddy Hosted by GJEPC at India Pavilion During JCK Las Vegas 2025
The Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC) welcomed Dr. K. Srikar Reddy, Consul General of India, San Francisco, to the India Pavilion at JCK Las Vegas 2025 — North America’s premier jewellery trade event
Dr. Reddy was received by Kirit Bhansali, Chairman of GJEPC. Also in attendance were Dnyaneshwar Patil, IAS, Development Commissioner of SEEPZ; Dr. Gaetano Cavalieri, President of CIBJO; and Sabyasachi Ray, Executive Director of GJEPC, among other dignitaries and industry stakeholders.
The India Pavilion at JCK 2025 is a showcase of the country’s finest craftsmanship, design, and innovation, featuring 30 prominent exhibitors across key segments such as Passport, Diamond Plaza, Lab-Grown Diamond, Gemstone, and Currents. The display highlights India’s comprehensive capabilities — from natural and lab-grown diamonds to coloured gemstones and contemporary jewellery.
Complementing the Pavilion are two key initiatives led by GJEPC: the curated India Design Gallery, which celebrates cutting-edge design talent, and the India Experience Lounge, offering an immersive cultural and business engagement zone.
The visit by senior officials and diplomats adds significant momentum to India’s mission of strengthening its position as a global leader in the gem and jewellery industry. It also provides a morale boost to participating exporters and reaffirms the government’s commitment to supporting Indian businesses on the world stage.

GIA Board Of Governors In India To Discuss Industry Priorities and Expand Grading Services Scope
GJEPC Proposed Building On The Traditional 4Cs Framework With Greater Emphasis On Rarity, Traceability, Provenance and Exclusivity To Help Consumers Better Understand The Characteristics and Story Of Natural Diamonds
The GIA Board of Governors delegation, led by Pritesh Patel, President and Chief Executive Officer of GIA met dignitaries and senior leadership of the Indian GJ leadership at an event titled INDIA IN BRILLIANCE . Amit Pratihari, MD-GIA India was present at the event.The highlight was a fireside chat with Ajoy Chawla, MD Titan Co Ltd , Pritesh Patel and Amit Pratihari.
Earlier GJEPC welcomed the GIA Board of Governors delegation, led by Pritesh Patel, to its Mumbai head office on 14 October 2026 for discussions on industry priorities, certification services and opportunities to strengthen India’s position in the global gem and jewellery trade.
GJEPC recommended setting up a GIA verification service within Bharat Diamond Bourse (BDB), with a defined timeline, to make diamond verification more accessible and help deter fraudulent cases and fake laser inscriptions.
GJEPC urged GIA to extend grading services in India to diamonds of all sizes, including stones above 3.99 carats, as well as fancy-colour diamonds. The Council highlighted the delays and logistical challenges involved in sending such stones overseas for grading.
GJEPC proposed building on the traditional 4Cs framework with greater emphasis on rarity, traceability, provenance and exclusivity to help consumers better understand the characteristics and story of natural diamonds.
