GJEPC exporter mentorship programme provided in-depth guidance
GJEPC has successfully completed the 7th session of its Exporter Mentorship Programme (EMP) on 23rd January 2025. Held virtually, this session focused on “Policy Incentives for Exporters” and aimed at empowering participants with vital information to excel in international markets.
The key speakers were Mr. K.K. Duggal, Director (Policy), GJEPC and Ms. Archana Gautam, Assistant Director (Policy), GJEPC. They elaborated on crucial policy measures, including the operations of Special Notified Zones (SNZ) in Mumbai and Surat under Para 4.49 of the Foreign Trade Policy, the Diamond Imprest Licence, Safe Harbour Rates for foreign mining companies, Import Duty Structures, Duty-Free Precious Metals, Duty Drawback Scheme, among several others.
With over 65 participants, the session provided in-depth guidance on leveraging policy frameworks to boost exports. The EMP initiative continues to assist aspiring exporters, promoting growth and innovation in the gem and jewellery sector.

Kerala Gold Trade Seeks Government Support For Jewellery Park and Sector Development
Adv. S. Abdul Nazar, State General Secretary of the Kerala Gold and Silver Merchants Association (KGSMA), met with Kerala Chief Minister Shri V.D. Satheesan. He brought various issues and matters concerning Kerala’s gold trade sector—including the ‘Jewellery Park’ project proposed in the state budget—to the Chief Minister’s attention. The Chief Minister assured him that a meeting of relevant stakeholders would be convened to discuss the challenges and future development plans of the gold trade sector in detail.
Adv. S. Abdul Nazar expressed his happiness and gratitude to the Chief Minister for the successful and grand organization of the KGSMA state convention, and KJIF show which had been inaugurated by the Chief Minister.
The KGSMA is hopeful of receiving government support for projects such as the Jewellery Park, aiming to revitalize Kerala’s gold trade and manufacturing sectors and create more employment opportunities.
