On this special occasion, D.P. Jewellers unveiled its 11th flagship showroom — the second in its hometown of Ratlam — featuring world-class amenities. Located on Sagod Road, the new state-of-the-art showroom was inaugurated by Shri Ratanlalji Kataria of D.P. Jewellers, with renowned actress Chitrangada Singh joining the celebrations. Key members of the D.P. Jewellers family, including Shri Anil Kataria, Shri Santosh Kataria, and Shri Vikas Kataria, were also present at the event, which saw enthusiastic customers exploring and purchasing jewellery from the newly launched showroom.

Chairman Kirit Bhansali meets Principal Chief Commissioner Prachi Saroop to advance long-pending trade facilitation for gem and jewellery exports

The Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC) convened a strategic meeting with Ms. Prachi Saroop, Principal Chief Commissioner of Customs, on 17th April to discuss the much-anticipated launch of hand-carriage exports for gem and jewellery through Mumbai International Airport.

Mr. Kirit Bhansali, Chairman of GJEPC, warmly welcomed Ms. Saroop and congratulated her on her recent promotion. The meeting also saw the participation of Mr. Anoop Mehta, President of the Bharat Diamond Bourse (BDB), Mr. Mehul Shah, Vice President of BDB, and Mr. Mithlesh Pandey, Director – Membership, GJEPC.

A major highlight of the discussion was the implementation of hand-carriage exports—a long-standing industry request aimed at simplifying and expediting international shipments. Ms. Saroop shared that a mock trial is planned for the third week of April 2025, and assured the industry of the Customs department’s full cooperation for the smooth and timely rollout of the initiative.

Gold  hovers around Rs 1 lakh/10gm, MCX  gold prices breach ₹99,000

Gold prices in the retail market of Delhi surged to a historic high of ₹1 lakh per 10 grams on Tuesday, driven by strong safe-haven and investment demand for the yellow metal. Gold bullion rates in Mumbai reached ₹97,380/10 gm.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), gold prices breached the ₹99,000 mark for the first time, mirroring the rally in international bullion prices. Weakened risk appetite among investors further bolstered the demand for gold as a safe-haven asset.

MCX gold rate opened higher at ₹98,753 per 10 grams, compared to the previous close of ₹97,279. Gold prices rallied by ₹1,899 or 1.95% during the session, hitting a new all-time high of ₹99,178 per 10 grams.

In the international market, gold extended its record-breaking rally amid mounting investor concerns following US President Donald Trump’s criticism of Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell.
