Celebrate Thanksgiving with the Valani Atelier x Gemfields ‘High Jewels’ collection

Gemfields’ Zambian emeralds and Mozambican rubies dazzle in a collaboration with New York-based jeweller Valani Atelier. New this year, the ‘High Jewels’ capsule collection perfectly captures the essence of the American Thanksgiving season, with six pieces that use the light, colour, and sculptural form of coloured gemstones to tell a story.
Thanksgiving is when loved ones come together to feast, as the nights draw in and the festive season approaches. The fiery red of rubies (associated with passion, prosperity and protection) and vibrant green of emeralds (linked to hope, growth and renewal) match the joyfulness of this family and friend-focused holiday, honouring America’s roots with glamorous jewels that evoke bygone days.
Consisting of three rings, two pairs of earrings and a bracelet, the collection exudes Valani Atelier’s trademark style: practical, bold designs for the modern woman that bring a flash of luxury to the everyday. Each piece features emeralds from Kagem in Zambia (a world-leading emerald mine) or rubies from Montepuez Ruby Mining in Mozambique (situated on one of the most significant recently discovered ruby deposits in the world), both majority-owned by Gemfields.
The attention to detail for which Valani Atelier is renowned – each gemstone is hand-selected, and pieces produced in limited batches, to ensure a personal feel – is evident in the ‘High Jewels’ collection. The Octavie Emerald Bracelet boasts 25 carats of Zambian emeralds accented by diamonds in an 18k white gold band. The Anivia studs and Emerald and Diamond Dangle Earrings also pair emeralds and diamonds to striking effect. There are two variations on the classic Ruby and Diamond Three Stone Ring, both with a central ruby, while the Nova Hexa Emerald Ring is set in platinum with a hexagonal emerald stunner.
Underlying this partnership between Valani Atelier and Gemfields, a world-leading miner of coloured gemstones, is a shared passion for integrity and responsible sourcing. For over 80 years, the Valani family has built a legacy based on a commitment to transparency, directly sourcing gemstones from responsible miners around the world. Gemfields funds projects to improve health, education and livelihoods in the communities around its mines, and supports local conservation partners, believing that coloured gemstones should create a positive impact for the countries and communities from which they originate. It founded its charitable arm, the Gemfields Foundation, to magnify the scale of its work.
Valani Atelier x Gemfields ‘High Jewels’ collection ranges from USD 24,000 for one of the Ruby and Diamond Three Stone rings to USD 480,000 for the Anivia Emerald Earrings, and is available on Valani Atelier.
