Susan Jacques, a respected industry leader, will retire as president and CEO of the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) at the close of 2025. Having led GIA since 2014, after serving as interim CEO, Jacques has been instrumental in guiding the organization through significant milestones. She also served as a member and chair of the GIA Board of Governors from 1996 to 2014.
Lisa Locklear, chair of the GIA Board of Governors, praised Jacques for her visionary leadership, which helped GIA thrive even in challenging times. Jacques expressed pride in leading GIA and emphasized the organization's commitment to transparency and innovation in the gem and jewelry industry.
As Jacques prepares for her retirement, a search committee will begin evaluating both internal and external candidates for her successor. She will assist with the transition until the end of 2025.
