Qatar to Host First Diamond and Gem Conference in January

Qatar is set to launch the Doha International Diamond & Gem Conference from January 29 to 31, aiming to promote innovative strategies for the colored-gemstone industry. The event will focus on advancing sustainability and profitability across the supply chain. Organizers, including Alex Popov, emphasized the changing dynamics of the industry and shifting consumer behaviors. This conference follows Qatar’s 2021 admission to the Kimberley Process, signaling the country's desire to strengthen its role in the global diamond market. Key speakers will include leaders from DMCC, GJEPC, Botswana’s Ministry of Minerals and Energy, De Beers, GIA, and the WDC.
