OROAREZZO 2024:14% rise in foreign visitors; overall growth +5% compared to last year

Edition number 43 of Oroarezzo closed today with +14% foreign visitors at Arezzo Fiere e Congressi and +5% overall attendance compared to last year's edition. Italy in constant growth at 4%.In 2023, Oroarezzo saw the start of a recovery with an overall +40% in attendance rewarding the event project that Italian Exhibition Group had shared with trade associations, companies and local stakeholders.

Today saw confirmation of further growth proving how the quality and variety of the exhibitor offer at Oroarezzo ideally matched the profile of the foreign buyers hosted. Manufacturing, jewellery, components, semi-finished products and technologies met their reference markets in Arezzo and were able to open up others thanks to IEG's incoming programme in collaboration with ITA Italian Trade Agency, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and IEG's international regional advisors. Arezzo played a leading role with events outside the expo centre and an experiential tour of the City of Gold, co-organised with Confguide Confcommercio Arezzo.

MARKETS, CONFIRMATIONS, EXPLOITS AND NEW ENTRIES

Visitors came from 109 different countries, the most numerous in recent years. Among the foreign geographical areas, Europe was represented at 40%, followed by the Middle East at 16%Turkey 8%, the Americas 13%Asia 14% and Africa 8%. In more detail, the most represented countries were Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, Spain, the United States, Lebanon, Algeria, Romania, Poland and Hong Kong. The LATAM area was in attendance with Mexico and Brazil and new entries came from Bahrain, Laos, Venezuela, Afghanistan, Montenegro and the Dominican Republic. In Oceania, the Australian exploit doubled its presence compared to last year. For this 43rd edition, about 400 buyers were hosted from 60 countries.

OROAREZZO, CONTINUOUS EVOLUTION: “PRECIOUS FASHION” AND CAREER DAY

As well as the new layout designed to make the visitors' buying experience easier, IEG shared two more important initiatives with Oroarezzo's stakeholders. “Precious Fashion” saw leading voices from the jewellery and fashion accessory industries take turns to pool common strategies, technologies and values and, lastly, to chart a path for the accessory industry’s recovery. Promoted by Confindustria Federorafi and “Leather & Luxury” magazine, which conducted a survey of companies in the sector, the initiative was hailed by Adolfo Urso , Minister for Enterprise and Made in Italy, as a landmark event for high-end accessories. Last but not least, on the final day with the Career Day initiative “Open To Young Generation”, IEG worked in concert with the educational and professional training system so that the young goldsmiths of tomorrow could meet exhibiting companies at the show that have open job positions.

PREMIÈRE, 33 YEARS OF PURE CREATIVITY: IT'S TIME FOR “TALENTS”

Première has been inspiring the creativity of jewellery companies for 33 years through a theme chosen by art director Beppe Angiolini. This year that theme was “Love and Beauty”. Together with 53 participants in the Design, Fashion, Tradition and Wearable Sculpture categories, for the second year running the competition also involved the Talents category for young students from Italian goldsmith schools and designers under 30. The joint winners were Arezzo’s Professional Technical Institute with a sketch by Chiara Angeli and the Giovagnoli Art High School in San Sepolcro with a sketch by Asia Barberi. The winners will see their creations produced, thanks to the collaboration, free of charge, of local partner companies, and on display at the fourth Summit of Italian Jewellery to be held in Arezzo in December 2024.

  A PATH SHARED WITH STAKEHOLDERS

A change that IEG has shared and implemented together with local stakeholders: from the Arezzo-Siena Chamber of Commerce to Arezzo Fiere e Congressi, Arezzo Municipal Council, the Province of Arezzo and the Region of Tuscany as well as the Arezzo Goldsmith Council, Confindustria Federorafi, Confartigianato, CNA, Assocoral, AFEMO, A.I.F.M. and Confcommercio Federpreziosi.
