A joint delegation from the Gem and Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC) and Exim Bank visited Jaipur on December 12 to assess the strengths and challenges of the region's gemstone and jewellery manufacturing sector. The visit aimed to gather insights from local manufacturers on ways to boost export performance and address sectoral hurdles.
The delegation also toured the Indian Institute of Gems & Jewellery (IIGJ) Jaipur and its laboratory, focusing on the state of industry skilling and certification. The goal was to develop a strategy for capacity building to drive export growth.
During the visit, the delegation met with key local industry leaders, including Shri Arvind Gupta, President of the Sitapura Gems and Jewellery Industry Association, and Shri Neeraj Lunawat, Honorary Secretary of the Jewellers Association Jaipur, to discuss potential solutions and future plans.
