A joint delegation from the Gem and Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC) and EXIM Bank visited Agra on December 11th to assess the export potential of the region’s jewellery industry. The visit aimed to engage with key industry players and stakeholders to understand current export models and identify existing challenges.
The team first met with the International Marketing Head of ACPL Agra to learn about their export business model and the obstacles they encounter. Later, they visited the National Chamber of Commerce in Agra, where they held a two-hour meeting with prominent members of the Sarafa Association.
One of the key takeaways from the meeting was the Sarafa Association's request for export awareness seminars to be conducted in the near future. Additionally, the association suggested exploring the possibility of securing a Geographical Indication (GI) tag for Agra’s famous silver anklets.
